I grew up in the North East region of Mexico in a city called Monterrey, also known as "the city of mountains". This nostalgic song talks about the beauty of my hometown and the noble nature of its people. My long time friend Pamela sings with me. She is one of the kindest women I know.

Traditional. Arranged by Sonia De Los Santos; De Los Santos Music ASCAP

rough translation:

There's no rowdier people with a nobler heart

In the whole border  than the people from Nuevo León

With its honest people of simple nature

How beautiful is Monterrey with its Cerro de la Silla

The hill of the Obispado and La Mitra over there

Topo Chico on the other side and the Sierra right in front

With its honest people of simple nature

How beautiful is Monterrey with its Cerro de la Silla

Downtown the Ojo de Agua river with its beautiful people

They shine like the stars in the sky at night

Oh land of my dreams, who could be by your shore

How beautiful is Monterrey with its Cerro de la Silla

My God in the skies, a favor I want to ask

If I die in foreign lands let them take me to Monterrey

Let them bury me in the fields, in a very simple tomb

From where I can see my Cerro de la Silla

lyrics:
