Music lives in all of us in one way or another. Since I was a little girl, singing has been one of my greatest joys. Over the years, it has shaped who I am, connected me to others, and given me a sense of purpose. In Spanish, women who choose music as a way of life are called músicas. I am proud to be one of them.
These songs have been slowly simmering over the last few years, shaped by my journey as a traveling música, inspired by the love of my community, the experience of building a welcoming home, and the courage I have found in using my voice to bring people together and celebrate our stories.
From reflecting on growing up, to buzzing along with musical mosquitos, to recognizing the beauty of unconditional love, flying far away, and singing about my favorite hats, these songs carry pieces of my life, my roots, my friendships, and my imagination. My hope is that they invite you to gather with family and friends, sing along, and bring a little more music into your lives.
